Sell It Yourself Rules. By listing your vehicle for sale through Cars.com's Sell It Yourself service ("SIY"), you acknowledge and agree that: (a) the vehicle you list for sale is in your possession; (b) you have the right to transfer the advertised vehicle's title to the purchaser; (c) you are willing to sell the advertised vehicle at the price and on any other terms specified in your listing; (d) you will purchase only one SIY listing per unique vehicle and you will not advertise more than one vehicle in a single SIY listing, either by including descriptions of multiple cars in one listing or by subsequently updating the listing information to advertise different vehicles; (e) upon selling or otherwise taking your vehicle off the market, you will within 72 hours delete the listing for that vehicle; (f) you will not use your SIY listing to advertise or promote anything (including, without limitation, any product, service or business) other than one unique vehicle offered for sale; (g) except as provided in Cars.com's current Refund Policy and any applicable SIY 90-Day Money Back Guarantee Terms, you will owe Cars.com for your SIY listing, even if you fail to sell your vehicle or are dissatisfied with SIY; (h) you will properly identify yourself as either an "Individual Seller" or a "Dealer" (a "Dealer" is any individual or entity that is in the business of selling vehicles or who has had 4 or more vehicles for sale on the Cars.com site within the previous 12 months of the listing start date; anyone that does not meet the definition of a Dealer is an "Individual Seller");
(i) Neither an "Individual Seller" or a "Dealer" may list 4 or more Free, Basic, Enhanced or Premium ads during a single calendar year. A "Dealer" may list an unlimited amount of Single Dealer Ads; (j) if you placed a SIY listing with a material error that cannot be corrected through the SIY tools, you will contact Cars.com customer service within 10 days of your original listing date to inquire about making material changes to your listing (e.g., through a typographical error, you listed the wrong model for sale) and Cars.com shall determine, in its sole discretion, whether such changes will be permitted; (k) you will not use the Cars.com site, including without limitation your SIY listing, for any fraudulent, false, misleading or deceptive activity; (l) all content and information that you provide to Cars.com is truthful, accurate and complete; and (m) you have the full right, title and interest in and to all content, photos and other material that you provide to, or post on, Cars.com; (n) photos provided for the SIY listing will only show the vehicle listed for sale and may not include under any circumstances people, animals, or other objects not part of the vehicle. Cars.com reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove any SIY listing or photo, without notice and without liability or providing a refund, that does not meet the requirements of these SIY Terms & Conditions, Cars.com's website Terms of Service, Cars.com's policies, or if Cars.com otherwise determines or believes, in Cars.com's sole and exclusive discretion, that your listing or any photo or other content you upload is inappropriate for any legal, business, technical or other reason.
SIY Listing Details. Currently, Cars.com offers various SIY listings packages. Features included with each listing package vary depending on the market, as determined by the zip code where the vehicle is advertised for sale. SIY listings packages vary on the following features:
Run time: The number of days at a time the listing appears on the Cars.com site.
Renewals: Some listings packages cannot be renewed without purchasing a new listing. These listings will be permanently removed from the Cars.com site on their stated end dates. If you choose to delete and then reinstate a listing that does not include renewals prior to its stated end date, you may reinstate it only prior to the stated end date. Once reinstated, your listing will appear on the Cars.com site only until the stated end date, when it will be permanently removed from the Cars.com site.
Some listings packages include the ability to renew the ad (at no cost) until the advertised vehicle sells. If you do not renew your listing within 90 days of its stated end date, it will expire and cannot be renewed. When your listing is renewed, the listing date associated with your listing will remain as the original start date, not the renewal date, and is not updated. Photos: Cars.com SIY listings packages include from 0-12 photos of the seller's actual vehicle. Please note that if your listing appears on the Cars.com site for more than 180 days and your listing includes your own photos, you will need to upload the photos again after such 180-day period (at no cost) to keep them in your listing.

GENERAL LIMITATIONS. At this time, SIY listings can only be created for the vehicles and models specifically identified in the SIY drop-down menus. You are solely responsible for the information, content, and photos contained within your SIY listings. SIY listings only contain the features expressly indicated. In some cases, different features are available to other Cars.com advertisers (including but not limited to "Certified Pre-Owned" logos) that are not available to you. SIY listings may not appear on the Cars.com site for up to 72 hours. CARS.COM DOES NOT MAKE AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES TO YOU REGARDING THE SELL IT YOURSELF SERVICE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES THAT YOU WILL SELL YOUR VEHICLE, OBTAIN AN ACCEPTABLE PRICE FOR YOUR VEHICLE, ONLY RECEIVE LEGITIMATE INQUIRIES OR SOLICITATIONS FROM QUALIFIED BUYERS, OR RECEIVE ANY INQUIRIES REGARDING YOUR VEHICLE FOR SALE.
Cars.com reserves the right to, but is under no obligation to and does not assume any obligation to, review SIY listings before and/or after they are posted to the Cars.com site to confirm information relating to the advertiser and the advertised vehicle and to investigate complaints and suspicious activity. If Cars.com determines, in its sole and exclusive discretion, that you are engaging in any unfair, deceptive, false, misleading or fraudulent practices, Cars.com reserves the right to reject or immediately remove your listing from the Cars.com site without notice and without liability or providing a refund, as described above.
SIY Standard Refund Policy. As a general matter, Cars.com does not provide refunds for SIY listings more than 24 hours after a listing is purchased except under the following circumstances: (a) if it took longer than 72 hours for your listing to be posted to the Cars.com site OR (b) if you mistakenly purchased (either through the Cars.com site or through one of Cars.com's newspaper or broadcast affiliates) a duplicate listing for the same vehicle and both appear on the Cars.com site at the time of your request. In order to be eligible to receive a refund under these two circumstances, Cars.com must receive your refund request in the manner described below within 5 calendar days of your purchase of a SIY listing.
Cars.com further reserves the right to make refunds at any time in connection with cases of fraud, abuse, and in other limited instances. Cars.com does not provide refunds under any other circumstances unless you are eligible for the SIY 90-Day Money Back Guarantee. Notwithstanding anything in this policy to the contrary, Cars.com reserves the right to finally determine in its sole discretion whether the criteria for a refund set forth in this policy have been satisfied and to request any additional information relevant to such request.
All refund requests must be in writing and include your name, address, e-mail address, ad ID, vehicle description, the last 4 digits of the credit card used to purchase the listing, and the reasons you are requesting a refund. Please send all refund requests through our e-mail contact form.
Cars.com is not responsible for refund requests that are not timely received in accordance with this policy for any reason, including without limitation, Web congestion, addressing mistakes, computer or Internet downtime, or requests submitted by phone, postal mail, or any other manner not expressly provided for in this policy.
NOTE: The SIY Standard Refund Policy applies to online-only SIY listings, as defined above, purchased on the Cars.com site. The SIY Standard Refund Policy does not apply to any listings that are purchased from one of Cars.com's newspaper or other affiliates or partners as part of a print/online bundled package, even if such listings appear on the Cars.com site.

SIY 90-Day Money Back Guarantee Terms. As described below, Individual Sellers who purchase or upgrade to a Listing that meet all of the following Eligibility/Limitations and Refund Process terms and conditions are eligible for Cars.com's 90-Day Money Back Guarantee (the "Guarantee").
Eligibility/Limitations. To be eligible for the Guarantee, each of the following conditions must be met:
- The listing must be purchased on the Cars.com website as part of a listings package that includes the 90-Day Money Back Guarantee offer. The Guarantee only applies to certain listings packages and does not apply to any listings that are purchased from one of Cars.com's newspaper or other affiliates or partners as part of a print/online bundled package, even if such listings appear on the Cars.com site.
- The listing must have been on the Cars.com site for 90 consecutive calendar days without interruption following the ad start date. You must activate at least one renewal (at no charge) to accomplish this. If you upgrade to a listing package that includes the 90-Day Money Back Guarantee, the 90 day period commences on the date that the upgraded listing including the guarantee first appears on the Cars.com site, not the date the original listing went live on the Cars.com site.
- The advertised vehicle must still be for sale as of the date the refund request is submitted and the vehicle's title must be in your possession or the possession of a lien holder on your behalf. Listings for vehicles that have been sold (as the result of the listing or any other online or offline source) or traded in, or for vehicles that are otherwise no longer available for sale, are not eligible.
- The listing must have been purchased on or after May 13, 2005. The Guarantee does not apply to listings purchased prior to this date.
- The listing must have been purchased by an Individual Seller and not a Dealer, as defined above in the Sell It Yourself Rules.
- The listing must satisfy all provisions of the SIY Terms and Conditions.
- Only one Guarantee refund per household per calendar year.
Refund Process. Individual Sellers who meet the Guarantee Eligibility/Limitation requirements may request a refund by following the process described below. Refunds will be granted only if all of the instructions below are followed.
- Refund requests must be sent via postal mail to Cars.com, Attn: Money Back Guarantee, 175 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60604. No requests via e-mail, fax or in person will be accepted.
- Refund requests must be postmarked no earlier than 91 days after the listing first appeared on Cars.com and no later than 104 days after the date the listing first appeared on Cars.com.
- Refund request must include a completed and signed copy of the Cars.com Refund Request Form, which can be printed here. Incomplete or unsigned refund request forms will not be accepted.
- The refund will be credited to the credit card used for the ad purchase.
- The listing will be removed from the Cars.com site when the refund is issued.
Cars.com shall, in its sole discretion, determine whether all requirements for the Guarantee have been satisfied and may terminate or modify the Guarantee program on a prospective basis at any time. The act of submitting a refund request does not ensure that a refund will be issued.
